Ulla Kaasalainen will defend the doctoral dissertation entitled "Cyanobacteria and their toxins in lichen symbiosis " in the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki, on 2 November 2012 at 12:00. The public examination will take place at the following address: Biokeskus 3, auditorio 2402, Viikinkaari 1.
Dr. Thorsten Lumbsch, The Field Museum, Chicago, IL, USA , will serve as the opponent, and Professor Yrjö Helariutta as the custos.
